Celebrating a life dedicated to the art of Bharatanatyam and Carnatic music.

Journey Through the Years

This timeline not only reflects our achievements but also our unwavering commitment to excellence and our drive to shape the future of architecture .

  • 1980s – The Budding Composer

As my understanding of Bharatanatyam and Carnatic music deepened, I began composing pieces that reflected my passion for innovation within tradition. My first compositions emerged during this period—each a tribute to my gurus and a bridge between sound and soul.

  • 1990s – Expanding Horizons

This decade marked the beginning of my larger productions. From margams to musical dramas, I poured my creativity into crafting works that dancers could live and breathe on stage. It was also the time I began teaching, nurturing young artists who would go on to become global performers.

  • 2000s – The Foundation of Nrithyakshethra

I founded the Nrithyakshethra Dance Academy in Chennai—my dream of creating a space dedicated to disciplined, heartfelt training came to life. Hundreds of students walked through its doors, learning nattuvangam, rhythm, expression, and tradition.

  • 2010s – Recognition & Global Footprint

Honors like the Kala Seva Bharathi and Kalaimamani Award were humbling reminders that my journey resonated beyond borders. I traveled extensively, conducting workshops, composing for global performances, and setting multiple world records in choreography and collaboration.

  • 2020 – Rhythm Redefined

Despite the global pause, creativity never stopped. I composed 25 Varnams in 25 Days, bringing hope and rhythm to dancers worldwide. We broke boundaries with virtual performances, including 125 dancers performing 50 unique jathis from across continents.

  • 2024 – Dance as Tribute

In June 2024, I led 1,346 dancers in a world record-setting sword dance at Jeppiaar University, honoring the fearless Rani Velu Nachiyar. This blend of choreography, history, and collective energy was a defining moment of recent times.

  • The Journey Continues…

With over 4,500 disciples and a heart still brimming with rhythms and ragas, I continue to teach, create, and inspire. Every note, every beat, and every student carries forward a piece of this ever-evolving journey.
